Business day counting is particularly valuable in professional contexts: a 30-calendar-day billing period may contain only 20–22 business days; a legal notice period of "10 business days" is nearly two calendar weeks; a software sprint measured in working days excludes weekend disruptions. Note that public holidays are not deducted from the business day count because holidays vary significantly by country, region, and company policy — for holiday-aware calculations, you would need to maintain your own holiday calendar and adjust the result accordingly.
